HHC carts

Several exciting cannabinoids have hit the hemp industry recently, but HHC may hold more promise than any other. It has similar effects to THC, and with states cracking down on delta-8, the emergence of best HHC carts could not be better timed.

What is HHC?

Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is a hemp-derived cannabinoid with natural and synthetic origins and effects comparable to THC. A relaxing and euphoric substance, HHC is a popular marijuana alternative in the federally legal hemp scene.

HHC is rarely found as a naturally occurring phytocannabinoid. But it occasionally appears in cannabis as a degradation byproduct and hydrogenated derivative of THC. But there is nowhere near enough natural HHC in weed to make products.

That’s where the laboratory comes in! By perfecting the hydrogenation process, chemists can synthesize large quantities of distillate for use in federally legal HHC products. HHC can be made from both delta-8 and THC extract.

Intriguingly, HHC has two enantiomers, which are essentially mirror images of each other! Both 9-alpha-HHC and 9-beta-HHC connect with CB1 receptors to initiate THC-like effects, but research shows that the beta enantiomer is much more active.

What are HHC vape carts?

What are HHC vape carts?

HHC cartridges are pre-filled devices designed for effortless HHC vaping. Aimed at seasoned users and first-timers alike, cartridges take the stress and hassle out of vaping and need no maintenance or refilling.

Nearly all cartridges have 510-threaded connections to ensure compatibility with standard vape batteries. Cartridges are ideal if you like vaping multiple cannabinoids, as you can attach and detach them as required – and they cost less than disposables!

Cartridge vaping generates hard-hitting and almost immediate HHC effects. Perfect for rapid relaxation and an intense blast of euphoria, they are an ever-popular product choice among HHC users.

Are HHC Carts Safe?

Of course, using HHC cartridges involves vaping, which is not risk-free. However, most experts agree that vaping is much less dangerous than smoking.

Not all HHC carts come with the same level of risk, though. Ultimately, the vape juice ingredients and device materials determine how safe a cartridge is.

Ingredients

Vape carts contain a small amount of e-liquid (generally between 0.5 and 2ml), in this case comprising of HHC distillate and terpenes. HHC vape carts should not have thinners or cutting agents, or dilutants such as propylene glycol (PG).

PG is a safe vaping ingredient – indeed, you will find it in many e-liquids! But it adds nothing to vape carts and only makes the HHC less effective.

Never purchase HHC vape cartridges made with vitamin E acetate. I also recommend avoiding carts with MCT oil – the jury is still out on whether the widely-used tincture oil ingredient is safe to vape.

HHC distillate

HHC distillate quality can vary significantly. The best brands boast distillate exceeding 95% purity, but researchers have found commercially available products barely reaching 60%. Not all chemists make HHC distillate with the same care.

Low-quality distillate could contain harmful levels of residual solvents, chemicals, and heavy metals. Some have criticized third-party tests for not adequately detecting impurities, but independent testing is the only way to check HHC product safety.

Manufacturing materials

There is no rigid blueprint for manufacturing vape cartridges, and not all brands use the same materials. Different approaches are okay, and innovation is vital, but some low-grade materials bring risks of poisoning and long-term health complications.

Do not purchase cartridges made with arsenic, chromium, nickel, or lead – all toxic metals that can leach into vapor and cause harm. For the vape tank itself, borosilicate glass is preferable to polycarbonate (i.e., plastic), which can also leach.

Best HHC Carts vs. Other Carts

HHC Carts vs. Other Carts

HHC is the new kid on the block and an attractive alternative to other hemp-derived cannabinoids, including CBD, delta-8, and delta-10. But how does HHC compare to these established substances, and is it worth making the switch?

HHC vs. Delta-8

Delta-8 was the first euphoric cannabinoid to hit the federally legal hemp market. The uplifting delta-8 is 50 to 75% as potent as THC, making it slightly milder than HHC.

However, while delta-8 is better-known and more common, the cannabinoid has caught the attention of lawmakers. In contrast, HHC does not have the mainstream profile of delta-8 and may have a more secure legal future in the short to mid-term.

Effects-wise, HHC is more closely matched to THC than delta-8, although that also means an increased chance of side effects. But overall, HHC is the better pick.

HHC vs. Delta-10

Delta-10 is up to 30% less potent than delta-8, and therefore considerably weaker than HHC. For intense effects and a THC-like experience, HHC wins hands down. For a mild introduction to cannabinoid euphoria, delta-10 could be more suitable.

Users describe delta-10 as uplifting and relaxing, whereas HHC tends toward deep relaxation. Delta-10’s lighter effects are excellent during the day, but you may favor the complete calm of HHC when unwinding and de-stressing at night.

HHC vs. CBD

Famed for its calming and therapeutic properties, CBD has been the cannabis revelation of the century. But while CBD may work wonders, it doesn’t have the euphoric and joyful characteristics of HHC or other THC-lite cannabinoids.

If you prefer staying grounded when chilling, choose CBD cartridges. But for a recreational trip full of excitement and delight, HHC is the clear-cut winner.

That said, as a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, natural, hemp-derived CBD is legal for the long term. HHC’s origins and effects make its future less clear, and many supporters agree that HHC falls into a legal grey area.

HHC Carts Near Me: Online Buyer’s Guide

With so many considerations to make when purchasing an HHC cartridge and a seemingly unlimited range of products, it can be hard to make a choice!

Let's simplify the selection and zone in on three things to look for when shopping for HHC vape cartridges.

Lab reports

Lab reports

Always purchase HHC vape cartridges from third-party lab-tested and approved companies. With no Food and Drug Administration (FDA) product regulation to set industry-wide standards, legit hemp brands have taken matters into their own hands.

Lab reports provide independent clarity on cartridge purity, potency, and Farm Bill compliance. The lab-testing system helps expose brands selling fake, low-quality, and even dangerous HHC products.

Cartridge variety

Look for brands with impressive HHC cartridge variety – this shows commitment to the industry and makes it more likely that you will find the perfect HHC experience.

As in the cannabis and CBD markets, there are three classifications of HHC carts: indica, sativa, and hybrid. Be aware that HHC’s characteristics automatically make these cartridges more relaxing than others.

Indica: These ultra-calming HHC vape carts soothe the mind and body and are best for slowing down at night.

Sativa: If you want to enjoy HHC in the daytime, try cartridges with energizing sativa terpenes – these deliver the most uplifting HHC effects.

Hybrid: These carts offer an optimum middle-ground between sativa and indica products. However, an HHC hybrid is more indica-like than other hybrids.

Customer reviews

Verified customer reviews can often inform you of quality issues and persistent manufacturing problems. Lab reports – as critical as they are! – give you data, not opinions, and will not pick up on cartridge malfunctions or vapor harshness.

Products don’t always have customer reviews, and you sometimes cannot tell if they are authentic. Reviews aren’t a deal-breaker but can help if you are on the fence about buying a product.

HHC Carts: Drug Test Detectable?

Nobody knows for sure if drug tests can detect HHC, with conflicting anecdotes causing confusion and sparking debate. But some folks hope HHC is molecularly different enough from THC that typical drug tests may be unable to pick it up.

I fear this is wishful thinking, and there is no scientific evidence suggesting you can indulge in HHC vape sessions without risking your job. And if you pop for marijuana, protests that you were taking HHC would probably fall on deaf ears.

Internet chatter about HHC avoiding drug test detection could come from lucky anecdotes of people who took HHC and tested negative. But a clean result is more likely thanks to not having enough HHC in your system than any other reason.

As a hydrogenated THC derivative, HHC has a similar molecular structure and almost inevitably a similar metabolite. If so, I cannot see how the cannabinoid could skirt drug test detection.

Moreover, since HHC is less potent than THC, you may consume more to adjust and recreate a genuine marijuana experience. In which case, you could be MORE likely to test positive for cannabis with HHC than actual weed!

The bottom line: there is no concrete evidence showing that drug tests can detect HHC. But existing cannabis research indicates that it does. Until proven otherwise, assume that HHC shows up on a drug test and act accordingly.
